The key US data today (16 Nov) is the Oct PPI and Octindustrial production data. The rest of the data docketfor US includes November NAHB housing market index,September TIC flows data while for the other developedeconomies, the key data to watch is the UK October joblessclaims and September unemployment and weekly earningsdata. We have two Fed Reserve speakers in public forumstoday and both non-voters in 2016 FOMC; Minneapolis FedPresident, Neel Kashkari (non-voter in 2016 FOMC) andPhiladelphia Fed President Patrick Harker (non-voter in2016 FOMC).
This morning (16 Nov), Japan’s 3Q housing loansincreased by a faster 2.7%y/y (from 2.4% in 2Q). Meanwhile,Australia’s 3Q wage price index increased but by a slowerpace of 0.4%q/q, 1.9%y/y (from 0.5%q/q, 2.1%y/y in 2Q)missing Bloomberg median forecasts of 0.5%q/q, 2%y/y.
Calendar is light with no tier 1 data in Asia today.
Singapore PM Lee Hsien Loong begins his 5-day trip inPeru today for the annual APEC Summit which is expectedto cover topics including free trade and investment, as wellas connectivity in the Asia-Pacific region, food security andenvironmental concerns. The APEC Economic Leaders’Meeting is scheduled on Saturday and Sunday.
